Visit in Water Forge
In the heart of Oliwski Forest in Oliwa District in Gdansk, there is a unique tourist attraction. An old Water Forge from 16th century is waiting to be discovered here. It consists of two wooden buildings separated by Oliwski Streem. In each building there is a heating furnace and hammer powered by water wheels of 4 m. diameter. Tools in the Forge are able to cut a red hot iron of 4 cm thickness. Since 1957 Forge has been maintained by Historical Museum from Warsaw. In 1978 it was officially opened for visitors. Today you can admire here many interesting tools used for treatment of steel, some of which are really unique.
We invite you to visit this unusual site with us. We can also organize special shows inside the Water Forge which include performance of work of many different tools located here. It is a great attraction for school groups and for individual tourists as well.
We offer private tours with private guide on request. We can pick you up from your hotel at chosen time.
